Why wouldn't Loftie fade out the white noise and fade in the alarm? Also, why does an alarm clock claiming to help you "break up with your cell phone" require you to operate it using an app? You can complete most functions (volume, alarm) on the device itself, but other things require you to grab your phone, making you walk back and forth between your bedroom and wherever you plugged in, tempting you back to the scroll.Īnother obvious feature should be Bluetooth connectivity with headphones Loftie has meditations and soundscapes, but what if you don't want your roommate/husband/entire apartment to hear them late at night? Alas, you can't connect Loftie to headphones, making these functions useless. The clock claims to gently wake you, but if you play white noise to block out sounds while you sleep, the white noise sound jarringly cuts off before your gentle alarm sounds begins to play, jerking you out of sleep. At times, the alarm sounds didn't even go off. I tried to use Loftie for about 2 weeks and gave up because of its numerous defects, including spontaneous restarts, wifi connectivity issues, and lag using both the app and the device buttons (think pressing the increase volume button and having to wait 20 seconds for the volume to actually increase). This seems like the most commented-on reddit post having to do with Loftie, so I want to share that I do not recommend this product, even if it were half the price.
